Friendly colourful but peaceful area of south coast with opportunity to do your own thing away from the crowds of Kingston or Montego Bay. This is a rural community but with access to all modern conveniences.
The area is famous for fish cooked in St Elizabeth style with Bammy and rice and peas.
There are excellent fish restaurants including Cloggy's which is staffed by cook Eli who was Bob Marley's chef.
Pelican floating bar began as a small wooden platform on the sand covered reef about three quarters of a mile out at sea. The brainchild of Flloyd it now attracts Royalty and celebrities from all over the world. We are the closest building to the bar and can arrange visits.
Tours include the Black River and crocodile watching; Treasure Beach and lover's leap; Appletons rum distillery and YS falls.
Black river itself is famed as being the first place in Jamaica to have electricity. Boat tours to the reef and sandy islands can be organised with our own boatmen.
